STATE: The Winter session of the Tripura Legislative Assembly began on Friday. The session began with Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu’s address.
In his address, the Governor detailed the various achievements of the State Government led by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha. He highlighted the success of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme and various central schemes of health, agriculture, education, sports, and other departments. The Governor also elaborated on the Tripura Victim Compensation Scheme, Mukhya Mantri Swanirbhar Parivar Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, Swadesh Darshan Scheme, Mukhya Mantri Yuba Yogajug Yojana, and Neshamukti Abhiyan among others.
While addressing the session, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha announced the increase in the amount of the Legislative Area Development Fund. The Chief Minister said that from now on, the legislators will get an additional 25 lakh rupees in this fund. As a result, legislators will be able to spend a total of 75 lakh rupees in this fund from now on. It will cost the state exchequer 45 crore rupees annually. In the 2024–2025 fiscal year, this announcement will become effective.
The House also paid homage to two sitting MLAs, Surjit Dutta and Samsul Haque, who passed away recently. AIR
