NATIONAL: The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the UGC-NET June 2024 Examination in OMR(pen and paper) mode on 18th June 2024 across various cities in India. However, following concerns raised by the National Cyber Crime Threat Analytics Unit of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre under the Ministry of Home Affairs, indicating potential compromises to the exam’s integrity, the Ministry of Education, Government of India has decided to cancel the UGC-NET June 2024 Examination.
This decision aims to uphold the highest standards of transparency and integrity in the examination process. The Ministry has announced that a fresh examination will be scheduled, and details will be communicated separately. Concurrently, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been entrusted with conducting a thorough investigation.
The UGC-NET exam is critical for determining eligibility for ‘Assistant Professor’ and ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’ positions in Indian universities and colleges. The cancellation underscores the government’s commitment to safeguarding the interests of students and maintaining the credibility of examinations.
Candidates who had prepared for the UGC-NET June 2024 Examination are advised to monitor updates on the NTA website and check their emails regularly for the latest information regarding the rescheduled examination.
