STATE : As in previous years, the Diwali festival and fair will be celebrated at the Matabari Tripurasundari Temple premises, scheduled this year from October 31 to November 2. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha will officially inaugurate the fair in the evening, according to festival committee chairman MLA Abhishek Deb Roy, who shared details during a press conference at the temple. Dr. Saha will be participating in the Kalyan Aarti at Kalyan Sagar before inaugurating the fair by lighting ceremonial lamps on the open stage. The fair will run through November 2, inviting pilgrims and visitors to experience the festive traditions.

In the press conference, the chairman of the fair committee said that there will be a total of 18 government stalls at the fair. 1000 volunteers will always be active in controlling the crowd of pilgrims in the temple area. Besides, entry and exit routes have been specified for the convenience of pilgrims to enter the temple. He also said that this 3-day long festival and fair will be telecast live through LED screens in different districts of the state. Besides, the fair program will be shown live through LED screens at 2 places in the fair premises. Video recording of the aarti and inauguration ceremony will be done through drone cameras.

He further stated that this year, 639 vendor stalls will be there, offering a variety of goods for visitors. Over 2,000 personnel from the TSR, police, and Quick Response teams will ensure comprehensive security throughout the fair. Health workers will be stationed on-site for the convenience and care of pilgrims, also fire service personnel will be there to handle any emergency situations. In addition, an exciting lineup of cultural programs will take place over three days on the fair’s open stage, featuring more than 2,000 artists from both within the state and beyond. These performances promise to bring a diverse array of cultural experiences to attendees.
