Tripura’s traditional ‘Sangrai Dance’ will be seen performing on the ceremonious Republic Day in New Delhi.
Sangrain Dance Academy has been selected from the National Level (Grand Finale) of Vande Bharatam Nritya Utsav 2023 which is organized by the Ministry of Culture, under the aegis of Republic Day Celebration 2023.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, MoS Pratima Bhoumik, and MP Rebati Tripura congratulated the team Sangrain Dance Academy in this regard.
980 dancers participated in the National Level Competition (Grand Finale) and 500 dancers from all parts of the country are selected to perform a grand cultural show during Republic Day 2023 on the theme of ‘Nari Shakti’. The competition was held in 3 stages i.e. State-UT level, Zone level, and National Level.
Meanwhile, The Sangrai dance is a traditional Indian dance performed by the Mog tribal community on the occasion of the Sangrai festival during the month of Chaitra (in April) of the Bengali calendar year.
