STATE: The Tripura Tourism Promo Fest-2024 will commence on December 3 at Narikelkunja in Dumboor. The festival will also take place on December 9 at Rajghat in Neermahal, on December 11 at Jampui Hill, and from December 12 to 14 in Agartala.

On December 14, the festival will culminate with an evening cultural program at Swami Vivekananda Stadium in Agartala, where well-known music artist Shreya Ghoshal and other prominent performers will take the stage. This announcement was made by Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury during a press conference held at the Gitanjali Tourism Guest House.

Minister Chowdhury stated that the festival is a collaborative effort between the Tripura Tourism Department and the Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Limited. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha will officially inaugurate the festival at Narikelkunja, Dumboor, on December 3, alongside Tourism Minister Chowdhury and other dignitaries. On that day, the Chief Minister will also inaugurate a newly constructed bridge and a homestay at Dumboor Lake.

The Tourism Minister emphasized that the main goal of organizing this festival is to showcase the rich cultural heritage, traditional art, and natural beauty of Tripura’s 19 ethnic groups to tourists both within and outside the state. The festival aims to promote economic development through tourism and highlight the diverse unity of Tripura.

On December 12, approximately 70 to 80 representatives from the Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India are expected to arrive in Agartala.

Prashant Badal Negi, Director of the Tourism Department, outlined the events for the festival. Following the opening ceremony at Dumboor’s Narikelkunja on December 3, there will be a musical concert, a traditional dress exhibition featuring the 19 ethnic groups, a boat race, adventure sports, and a Rokmari food festival. On December 9 at 6 PM, a musical performance featuring renowned artist Niharika Nath will take place at Rajghat in Neermahal, along with musical concerts and local food demonstrations.

On December 11, the Eden Tourist Lodge in Jampui Hill will host a musical concert, including performances by local artists, dance, adventure sports, and food stalls. On December 12, the visiting representatives will experience a light and sound show at Ujjayanta Palace. On December 13, they will visit the Dumboor Reservoir and the Tripurasundari Temple. Finally, on December 14, an evening cultural program at the Swami Vivekananda Stadium will feature celebrated artists including Shreya Ghoshal, Sourabhee Debbarma, and local performers.
