Two-day 27th conference of Police DGs and IGs of Northeast on law and order inaugurated in Agartala’s Pragna Bhavan. The conference has been inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha.
 
In the Conference Chief Minister, Dr. Manik Saha said drug is entering the Northeastern states through illegal ways. Drugs from different states and countries are also entering Tripura. The central government is working with Zero Tolerance Policy against drugs. Tripura is also continuing its drive against drugs along with all the states of the Northeast. The Chief Minister informed that the Northeastern states will take up certain active plans and steps against drugs dealing in the conference. Alcohol related issues, terrorism and illegal infiltration will also be discussed in the conference.
 

The Chief Minister said, there has been huge improvement in the law & order of the Northeast.
There is no longer the black chapter of terrorism in the Northeast. He informed that fencing is almost complete in border areas of the state. To complete fencing in the remaining areas, regular communication is being done with the Bangladesh government. The Chief Minister said, the central government is working for the development of the Northeast under Act East Policy. The Northeastern states are at present jointly working together towards development.

Chief Secretary J. K. Sinha, Tripura Police DG Amitabh Ranjan along with Police DGs and IGs of Northeastern states, Central Intellingence Bureau, Narcotics Control Bureau and High-ranking officials of different levels were present in the conference.
