Agartala: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to imparting value-based education alongside quality learning, with a vision to transform Tripura into an emerging education hub.
Speaking at the platinum jubilee celebration of Bardowali Higher Secondary School in Agartala, Dr. Saha said education is the cornerstone of progress and must go beyond textbooks to instil patriotism, social responsibility, and moral values in students.
“The government is working seriously on strengthening educational infrastructure while ensuring quality learning. Schools and colleges are like temples to us, and value education is as important as academic success,” the Chief Minister said.
Highlighting Bardowali School’s achievements, he noted that the institution, established in 1950, now educates around 1,700 students and has produced excellent results, including a 100% pass rate in the recent secondary examination. He also praised the dedication of teachers for the school’s continued success.
The Chief Minister underscored the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) in Tripura under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, describing it as a transformative step in modernising India’s education system.
Dr. Saha further reminded the audience that Tripura recently became the third fully literate state in India, after Goa and Mizoram. “Education acts as a bridge between knowledge and ignorance, light and darkness,” he remarked, adding that the government will continue to expand initiatives like Vidya Jyoti schools to raise academic standards.
