
In a strong message against drug abuse and trafficking, the Government of Tripura organized a Joint Motorcycle Rally under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan on the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
The rally was flagged off by Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha at the Umakanta Academy Playground in Agartala at 8:00 AM. The event was jointly coordinated by the Narcotics Control Bureau (Agartala Zonal Unit) and the West Tripura District Administration.
Prominent dignitaries attended the event, including Chief Secretary Shri J.K. Sinha, Director General of Police Shri Anurag, DDG (NER) of the NCB Shri R. Sudhakar, and Head of Tripura’s Anti-Narcotics Task Force, Shri Avula Ramesh Reddy.
Other notable officials who joined as Special Guests included Shri Abhishek Singh (Secretary, RD & Home Dept), Shri Prakash Ranjan Mishra (Addl. Director, NCB Guwahati), Dr. Kiran Kumar K (SP, West Tripura), and Dr. Vishal Kumar (District Magistrate & Collector, West Tripura). The entire program was coordinated under the supervision of Ms. Megha Jain, Additional District Magistrate & Collector, West Tripura.
The rally served as a public outreach initiative to promote a drug-free society and mobilize community support in curbing narcotics and related crimes. With active participation from law enforcement, administrative authorities, and local stakeholders, the event showcased Tripura’s commitment to the nationwide Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan and its fight against substance abuse at the grassroots level.
