Udaipur, Tripura – In a major boost to spiritual and cultural tourism, Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for a landmark project — the ’51 Shakti Peeth Replica Park’ — at Bondowar in Udaipur. The project, valued at Rs 97.70 crore, is being spearheaded by the state’s Tourism Department.
The park will feature replicas of all 51 Shakti Peethas, sacred sites believed in Hindu mythology to mark the places where parts of Goddess Sati’s body fell to Earth. Strategically located near the revered Tripurasundari Temple in the Matabari constituency, the park aims to transform Udaipur into a hub of spiritual heritage and tourism excellence.
The foundation stone ceremony was attended by a host of dignitaries, including Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Matabari MLA Abhishek Debroy, Bagbassa MLA Rampada Jamatia, Kakraban-Shalgara MLA Jitendra Majumdar, and top officials from the Tourism Department, along with the Tourism Minister.
A Vision Rooted in Devotion and Development
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Dr. Saha said, “Today, Bondowar begins a glorious new chapter in Tripura’s spiritual and cultural history. This project not only honors our rich mythology but also serves as a beacon for tourism growth under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
He emphasized that the initiative will not only elevate Tripura’s profile on the national and global tourism map but will also generate employment, boost the local economy, and foster cultural pride.
