Tripura bagged two Awards at the National level. Under Rupaichari Block, Kumarghat Block Advisory Committee and Bagmara Village Committee will be awarded by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj.

This year on the occasion of National Panchayat Raj Day i.e., on April 24, the ” Nanaji Deshmukh Sarbottama Panchayat Satata Vikash Puraskar” will be given to Kumarghat Block Advisory Committee while the “Special Carbon Neutral Panchayat” award will be given to Bagmara Village Committee.

Besides this award, the Kumarghat Block Advisory Committee will receive a cash incentive of Rs 1.50 Crore. In the presence of the President of India, these honors shall be conferred at New Delhi.

On the other hand, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha expressed his contentment on Twitter ‘These awards are signs of the commitment of State government for the development of the people. I congratulate the Panchayat Department of the State as well as the Panchayat representatives at all levels for these awards.

The National Panchayat Awards under different categories are conferred annually by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj to acknowledge and incentivize the best-performing Panchayats across the country.
