STATE : Abha ID registration work has started in the state to bring access to medical services digitally. The registration work in the state commenced last June 3. Abha registration will continue till July 12. Mission Director Rajeev Dutta on Wednesday said this in a press conference at the State Mission Office of the National Health Mission.

In the press conference, he said that the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission was launched in 2021 to digitize the health infrastructure. The platform of this mission includes the Abha app to provide digital services to citizens. Through the Ayushman Bharat Health Account Number, i.e., the 14-digit Ava Number, every citizen of the country can store their health information digitally and use that information as needed.

The Mission Director said that this Abha number will facilitate the communication of the beneficiaries with the health service providers. Moreover, anyone can easily get their lab report and prescription through the Ava app.

In the press conference, the Mission Director also said that Abha Generation is currently running in various schools in the state. An interfacing agency called Ma Usha Charitable Trust will implement the program in urban areas of the West Tripura district.

He also said that if one has an Abha ID, one will not have to stand in long queues at the hospital. Appointments can also be made online for doctors.He said that 19,43,254 people have been registered for Abha generation in the state so far. Health records of 17,57,942 people have been linked. West Tripura District Chief Health Officer and Joint Mission Officer were at the press conference.
