STATE : Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha chaired a review meeting on the current situation and progress of the Agartala Airport road construction, proposed multi-storied administrative building, and Unity Mall.
While reviewing the meeting Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said, Emphasis should be placed on the use of modern technology in the implementation of development programmes. The work on the ongoing projects in the state should be completed expeditiously within the stipulated time frame, using modern technology, and maintaining quality. The necessary measures for this should be done quickly.
Dr. Shailesh Kumar Yadav, the CEO of Agartala Smart City Limited, provided comprehensive details regarding the present state of work and advancement of the Airport Road and Unity Mall development projects. He noted that work on the 5.37 km long Airport Road has begun, including widening and construction. By December 31st of this year, the blacktop work on the Agartala-Airport route is supposed to be finished. Additionally, the goal is to finish building the RCC bridge by July 2024 and place dividers on this route by March 2024.
CEO of Agartala Smart City Limited Dr. Yadav added that Agartala Smart City Limited has taken the initiative to build Unity Mall on 4.18 acres of land next to the Amtali Bypass.
The Department of Industries and Commerce has already granted administrative approval. The G+T type building at Unity Mall is scheduled to begin construction in January 2024. However, he expressed hope that the construction of the mall would be completed within two years.
Chief Engineer (R&B) Rajeev Debbarma of the Public Works Department discussed the current status of the construction of the multi-story administrative building in Gurkhabasti, Agartala, stating that the structure will be built in accordance with green building guidelines.
