STATE : Former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly will arrive in Tripura on Monday for a two-day visit to formally sign an agreement with the Tripura Tourism Department to become its Brand Ambassador.

The discussions with the tourism department have been going on with Sourav Ganguly for a long time to make him the brand ambassador of Tripura Tourism.

Sourav Ganguly is expected to arrive in Agartala on Monday evening. He will then proceed to Ujjayanta Palace to attend the Agreement exchange ceremony that will designate him as the brand ambassador.

After the administrative ceremony, Mayor Dipak Majumder will felicitate him on behalf of Agartala Municipal Corporation, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury told reporters on Sunday.

After the administrative ceremony, Sourav Ganguly will pay a courtesy to meet with the Chief Minister, Dr. Manik Saha, at his official residence. On the next day, Ganguly will be in Chabimura and Ujjayanta Palace to shoot for Tripura Tourism.

Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said that through Sourav Ganguly, it will be possible to show the dignity and beauty of the tourist centers of Tripura to the world. We think it will be marked as the start of a new chapter for Tripura’s tourism industry.

The State Government wants to create employment opportunities by developing the tourism industry of Tripura. Sushanta Chowdhury shared that Sourav Ganguly will also shoot to promote other tourist spots in the state later.

Tourism Minister laterally expressed hope that Sourav Ganguly will help in the development of tourism in Tripura.
