People of Agartala especially students of the state, can now visit Science City, as Science City Agartala commenced its journey on Wednesday.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the Science City Agartala on the premises of Progeny Orchard in Siddhi Ashram.

The Science City has been constructed following the guidelines set by the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM). This Science City has been developed in an area of ​​12.84 acres, at the cost of 67.38 Crore.

DoNER Ministry has spent Rs 22.68 crore and Rs 24.70 crore from the state government, and Rs 20 crore from SPA has been spent on the construction of this science city.

During the opening ceremony of the Science City, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said, Science is the first step to progress. So we should always keep ourselves up to date with science. Science City would become a significant medium in making science learning fun.

Addressing the Programme, Deputy CM Jishnu Dev Varma said before 2019, the work of this Agartala Science City was only 30 percent completed. No money was allocated in advance by the previous government to complete this work. The construction of this world-class science city has been completed in a very short time with the goodwill of the Public Works Department during the current government.

The currently constructed main building has 6 exhibition halls, 2 seminar halls, 1 planetarium, 1 3D hall, and 1 children’s activity hall. Exhibition components include Fun Science Exhibit Gallery, Astronomy, Temporary Exhibition, Biodiversity Gallery, 3D Theater, and Planetarium. Also, Science Park will be constructed here in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the ticket price for entry into the main complex of the Science City would be Rs. 30 for general visitors, Rs. 20 for school students as general visitors, and Rs. 10 for school students in groups.
