Excessive heat waves caught Tripura along with other states. The summertime temperature this year has steadily increased to roughly 38–39° Celsius per day, which is close to 40.

Due to the prevailing extreme heat wave in the state, the government of Tripura has decided to close all government and government-aided educational institutions from April 18 to April 23.

In addition, the authorities of all private schools in the state have also been requested to remain closed during this period.
