The State Government has decided to increase the salary of all the contractual doctors and employees working in the State’s National Health Mission (NHM).

As of April 2023, the pay increase will take effect. This information was announced at a press conference by Health Secretary Dr. Debashis Basu.

Dr. Basu stated during the press conference that the salary hike would benefit 2,051 doctors and employees. As a result of the salary increase, Rs 16.78 crore will be required annually.

The State Government requested the Central Ministry to create a salary structure by assembling a delegation, the Health Secretary added, keeping in mind the sincere contributions of the contracted doctors and employees in the medical field.

A delegation from the Union Ministry’s NHSRC came to the state to draft the pay structure in response to this request. Later, this pay structure’s implementation was accepted by the State Government.

On the other hand, the delegation examined the significance of the doctors’ and other employees’ work experience in the job field and job scope criteria. As a result, it was agreed to raise the employees’ pay rate.
