Doctors and health workers have a role to play from the birth to the death of a human being. Although they have an important role in ensuring the health and safety of every person in the society, enunciated Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha after inaugurating State Level Orientation of Ayush CHOs on Homeopathic Health Care for mother and child organized at Rabindra Bhawan, Agartala on Thursday.
 
During the programme, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that the State Government planning to set up a Homeopathic College in the State.
 
Addressing the programme, CM further said the health services of the state have improved to quite an extent presently. The citizen of the state are now getting the opportunity of homeopathy, Ayurvedic, and Allopathy health services under one roof. The Chief Minister said besides the doctors, general people also need to bring change in their lifestyle. A good lifestyle means less chance of diseases. It is to be noted that Ayush Community Health Officers also took part in the orientation programme.
 
Besides this, Doctors, health workers, and ASHA workers were felicitated in the programme for their contribution in different fields in providing health services in the state. Apart from that, 5 retired homeopathy specialist doctors were felicitated in the programme for their achievement in homeopathic health services. They were all felicitated by the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister also unveiled an awareness-based book cover on Thalassemia disease in the programme.
 
Health Secretary Dr. Debashish Basu and Director of Health Department Dr. Subhashish Debbarma also spoke during the occasion. Medical Education Director Prof. (Dr.) H. P. Sharma was also present there. The Mission Director of the National Health Mission, Subhashish Das, delivered the welcome speech. The Director of Family Welfare & Preventive Medicines, Dr. Supriya Mallik, ended the programme with a vote of Thanks.
