Media is the mirror of society. Media has a special place in society. Media plays a leading role in moving the country forward. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said this while inaugurating the program organized on the occasion of National Press Day 2022 at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan on Wednesday evening.

 
The Programme has been organized by the ICA Department in collaboration with Agartala Press Club. The Government felicitated renowned Journalists of the state as well as handed over media accreditation cards to the veteran Journalists and distributed press jackets also. 
 
On the Occasion, CM said today is a day to remember all the journalists who are no longer with us. The Chief Minister also said that the present government is media friendly. The government has already taken various initiatives to solve various problems of the media.
 
Speaking on the occasion ICA Minister Sushanta Chowdhury advised the representatives of the media not to give too much importance to their own opinion in the reporting of news.
 
In the National Press Day program, Veteran Journalists Shekhar Dutta and Swapan Kumar Bhattacharya were felicitated for their special contribution to the media.In addition, accreditation cards are awarded to those who have worked in the news world for 25 years or more and those who are over 65 years of age. Those present at the event who received this card are eminent journalists Arun Nath, Shrataranjan Khisa, Sanjib Deb Shekhar Datta, Pradeep Datta Bhowmik, Jayanta Bhattacharya, Paritosh Biswas. Accreditation cards were also handed over to Pranab Sarkar, and Manas Pal among those who have been associated for 20 years or more in the field of Journalism and who are above 50 years of age.
