New Delhi, August 21: Manika Vishwakarma, a young beauty from Rajasthan, has been crowned Miss Universe India 2025, earning the opportunity to represent the country at the prestigious international pageant later this year.
A final-year student of Political Science and Economics, Manika impressed judges not only with her grace and confidence but also with her academic and artistic pursuits. She is also a trained classical dancer and an accomplished artist, having been recognised by the Lalit Kala Academy and the JJ School of Arts for her creative talent.
Hailing from a culturally rich background, Manika stood out in both Western and Indian ensembles during the competition. From dazzling in a glittering evening gown at the preliminaries to embracing traditional Indian attire with vibrant shararas and dupattas, her versatility reflected a seamless blend of global appeal and cultural roots.
Her journey to the crown was marked by years of dedication and perseverance. Manika revealed that she faced criticism early on for pursuing pageantry alongside academics. However, she remained determined to prove that intellect and beauty could go hand in hand. Her win, she says, is a message to young women across India that they can pursue multiple passions and excel in all of them.
The newly crowned queen also expressed her commitment to using the platform for social causes. She plans to work on initiatives focusing on women’s education and cultural preservation, believing that empowering women with knowledge and celebrating India’s diverse heritage can drive meaningful change.
Speaking after her victory, Manika said she wants to use her platform to inspire young women across India. “This crown is not just about beauty, but about representation, responsibility, and the ability to make a difference,” she said.
With her mix of glamour, intellect, and cultural pride, Manika Vishwakarma is set to carry India’s hopes on the Miss Universe 2025 stage.
