STATE: In the Tripura East (ST) parliamentary constituency, 80.32% of polling was recorded as per the latest data available until 8 PM. Voting is still going on in some polling stations. Chief Election Officer Puneet Agarwal said this in a press conference at the District Magistrate’s office in West Tripura on Friday.
In the second round of voting today, like in the first phase, the Chief Electoral Officer thanked to the voters for exercising their right to vote in a calm and free atmosphere.
In the press conference, the Chief Election Officer thanked various political parties, candidates, and the media for their cooperation in the election. He said that due to everyone’s cooperation, it was possible to conduct the polling in the first phase on April 19 and in the second phase today in a violence-free environment.
The counting of votes for two parliamentary constituencies will be held on June 4, 2024, at 20 counting centers in the state.
