Godhra: According to police on Thursday, a criminal case has been filed against two people and a school teacher in Godhra, in Gujarat’s Panchmahal district, for their alleged involvement in attempting to assist six applicants for the NEET-UG competitive exam by offering to help them with their papers in exchange for a payment of Rs 10 lakh each.

The district collector received a tip that some people were involved in misconduct, which led to the discovery of the racket at a Godhra school designated as a centre for the NEET-UG exam, which was held on Sunday for admission to medical colleges, according to an FIR.

According to the complaint filed with the Godhra taluka police station by the district education officer, Bhatt was employed as a teacher at Jay Jalaram School before being named the city’s deputy center superintendent for NEET.

On the day of the test, Bhatt was questioned by a group of district education officers and additional collectors who had come to the school. According to the FIR, when authorities examined his cellphone, they found a list of 16 candidates along with their names, exam locations, and roll numbers that co-accused Roy had provided to his WhatsApp account.
Upon being questioned about the list, Bhatt stated that the individuals on it were scheduled to sit for the NEET exam at his center. According to the District Education Officer Kirit Patel, Bhatt acknowledged that he had been promised Rs 10 lakh each for answering the questions on the examinations for six of these students. Authorities confiscated an advance payment of Rs 7 lakh made by one of the candidates.
The district collector received a report from the investigative team, who also confiscated the teacher’s cell phone, cash, and the vehicle containing the cash. The district collector then directed the filing of a formal complaint.

Three accused candidates were arrested for criminal breach of trust, cheating, and criminal conspiracy in the NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test) case. The accused were instructed to solve questions they knew and leave others blank for later examination. Further investigation is ongoing. The case is ongoing in Godhra taluka police station.
