Korean Envoy Meets Tripura CM to Boost Trade, Tourism, and Cultural Ties

Agartala witnessed a diplomatic push on Monday as a high-level delegation from the Republic of Korea, led by Ambassador H.E. Seok-Ho Lee, met Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha at the Civil Secretariat to explore new frontiers of cooperation.

The discussions centred on strengthening economic and cultural linkages, with the Chief Minister highlighting Tripura’s potential as a strategic gateway for boosting India–Korea relations, especially in the Northeast.

Dr. Saha showcased the state’s rapid strides in connectivity, industry, sports, and infrastructure, while identifying promising opportunities in tourism, cultural exchanges, and investments. Ambassador Lee was also introduced to Tripura’s rich cultural heritage, industrial capabilities, and expanding transport network.

Public Works Department Secretary Kiran Gitte was present during the talks, which concluded on a positive note — both sides agreeing to explore concrete partnerships that could pave the way for deeper engagement in the years ahead.
