Kabak Yano Successfully Summits Mount Kilimanjaro, Earns Praise from Arunachal Governor

5 August:Renowned mountaineer Kabak Yano has successfully scaled Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest peak in Africa and one of the Seven Summits of the world.

Yano reached the summit of the iconic snow-capped mountain on 4 August at 10:27 AM (African Time). Standing at an altitude of 5,895 meters (19,340 feet), Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania is not only the highest point on the African continent but also the tallest free-standing mountain in the world.

The achievement has drawn accolades from various quarters, including Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General KT Parnaik (Retd), who extended his heartfelt congratulations to Yano. The governor had earlier flagged off her expedition on 28 July from Raj Bhavan, Itanagar.

Expressing his pride, Governor Parnaik praised Yano’s remarkable feat and described her as a symbol of courage, resilience, and determination. He commended her for embodying the indomitable spirit of the people of Arunachal Pradesh.

“Kabak Yano’s success is a source of great inspiration, especially for the youth of our state. Her unwavering commitment proves that with perseverance and grit, no summit is beyond reach,” the governor remarked.

Yano, who has previously conquered Mount Everest, continues to be a trailblazer in Indian mountaineering, motivating many with her exceptional accomplishments on the world’s highest peaks.
