India’s first-ever privately developed rocket ‘Vikram-S‘ launched successfully on Friday morning.

The rocket has been developed by Skyroot Aerospace Pvt Ltd and named after the father of India’s Space Programme Vikram Sarabhai.
 
The rocket reached an altitude of 89.5 km with three payloads weighing a total of 83 kilograms.The rocket is carrying payloads of two Indian and one International customer into space. 
 
The Vikram Suborbital rocket has launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. The mission has been named ‘Prarambh’, which translates as ‘beginning’.
