STATE: Initiatives have been taken to strengthen the public distribution system of the state. If the public distribution system is strong, the social and economic system is also strong. Minister for Food, Civil Supplies, & Consumer Affairs Sushant Chowdhury said this while starting the journey of 5 newly purchased trucks at the central warehouse of the Food Department in A.D Nagar recently.
He said these vehicles were purchased to strengthen the public distribution system of the state. Essential commodities including rice, pulses, edible oil, and sugar are now being distributed to consumers through more than 2,000 fair-price shops in the state. It may be noted that these trucks have been purchased for 1 crore 86 lakhs from the State Government’s funds.
On the occasion, Minister Chowdhury said that the Government is working for the development of people at all levels. The Government plans to increase the wages of the workers employed in various stores of the food department in the coming days. But in this case, the workers have to perform their work properly with responsibility. He further stated that the role of workers working in various stores in running the public distribution system smoothly in the state is undeniable.
