Tripura witnessed one of the most horrific incident due to electrocution in Kumarghat Ulto Rath Yatra, which was organized by ISKCON Temple Kumarghat, and caused several injuries and death.

As per the media reports, 6 people including children have died on the spot. On the other hand, 15 others were injured. This incident occurred as the chariot came in contact with the high-tension wire.

After the incident, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha expressed his condolences to the bereaved families who lost their near and dear ones. CM Saha visited Kumarghat to take stock of the situation.

On the other hand, PMO tweeted, “The mishap during the Ulto Rath Yatra at Kumarghat is saddening. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in this mishap. May the injured recover soon. The local administration is providing all possible assistance to those affected: PM Narendra Modi.”

Also announced that ex gratia of Rs 2 lakhs from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased, and Rs. 50,000 would be given to those injured in the mishap.
