To celebrate International Women’s Day and to raise awareness of Cancer, four organizations organized one Walk-a-Thon from Rabindra Bhawan to Agartala Press Club on Friday morning, where Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder joined the rally with others.

Tripura’s first Cancer Welfare Society, named Madhurupa Memorial Cancer Welfare Society along with Comprehensive Blood & Cancer Centre, Indian Red Cross Society, and Crime and Corruption Control Awareness Society jointly organized this event. While in the event, around 75 students and Cadets from Women’s College and NCC joined.

After the walk, a small awareness session cum discussion was held in the Press Club. Bipasha Hrangkhawl first woman ATC of Tripura, Harshini Bapu Roy the first women firefighter in India and presently working at ONGC, Tripura, Srabani Dey, the first female food delivery agent in Tripura, and Debasmita Das student has been felicitated on Friday.
