
Agartala, Tripura | June 18, 2025:The Government of Tripura, through its School Education Department, hosted a grand Felicitation Ceremony on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the International Fair Ground, Hapania, to honor the Top-10 rank holders of the Madhyamik and Higher Secondary Examinations conducted by TBSE and Vidyajyoti Schools.
The event was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, who lit the ceremonial lamp in the presence of numerous distinguished dignitaries.
In his address, Chief Minister Dr. Saha highlighted the state’s commitment to providing quality education and emphasized the government’s focus on digital learning, including the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the education sector. He stated that a robust educational infrastructure, including technical institutions, has been developed to enable students to access opportunities in higher education.
A total of 82 meritorious students were felicitated during the ceremony. Dr. Saha congratulated the awardees and encouraged those who did not achieve the expected results to treat setbacks as stepping stones to future success.
“Failure is not the end—it’s the beginning of a journey toward success,” he said.
The Chief Minister acknowledged the immense potential among Tripura’s youth, stressing the importance of holistic development, including participation in sports and socially beneficial activities. He urged students to move beyond textbook learning and dedicate themselves to the greater good of society, while also warning against the dangers of drug addiction. He underscored the belief that education is a lifelong journey, where confidence grows with knowledge.
Dr. Saha shared encouraging statistics from the 2025 board exams:
Madhyamik pass rate: 86.53%
345 schools achieved 100% pass results.
Higher Secondary pass rate: 79.29%
39 schools achieved 100% pass results.
Vidyajyoti Schools Madhyamik pass rate: 86% (up by 26% from last year)
15 schools with a 100% pass rate (up from 1 last year).
Vidyajyoti Higher Secondary pass rate: 71% (up by 21%)
5 schools achieved 100% results (from zero last year).
He also highlighted key initiatives to strengthen education in Tripura:
Adoption of the NCERT curriculum
Expansion of English medium schools
Launch of the Super-30 Project
Chief Minister’s Merit Award, Talent Search Examination, and Vidya Jyoti Project
Free workbooks under the Prayas Project
Bicycles for Class 9 girls
Examination reforms under TBSE
Introduction of Smart Classes, ICT Labs, and Tinkering Labs
The Mission Mukul initiative
Student support programs like ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ to alleviate exam stress
Infrastructure-wise, the Chief Minister noted significant progress:
Renovation of 346 schools, with 44 new school buildings built in 2024–25
Plans to construct 30 new buildings and upgrade 123 schools in 2025–26
Launch of the Chief Minister’s Special Scholarship for Divyang (differently-abled) students — with 10 beneficiaries supported so far
Furthermore, IIIT, the National Forensic Science University, and a Drone Training Centre have been established in Agartala to advance technical education.
The event began with a welcome address by Ravel Hemendra Kumar, Special Secretary of the Education Department. Also present were key officials including N. C. Sharma, Director of School Education.
As a token of appreciation, tablets, and certificates were awarded to the top three rank holders in both Madhyamik and Higher Secondary exams. The Chief Minister personally presented the awards to the students applauding their hard work and dedication.
