STATE: Dipak Majumder, who won the by-election of the 7-Ramnagar assembly constituency, took oath as a member of the assembly as well as a Legislator in the lobby of the Tripura assembly today. Biswa Bandhu Sen, Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, administered the oath to him. It is to be noted that on the death of Surjit Dutta, MLA of the 7-Ramnagar assembly constituency, the by-elections for this assembly constituency were held along with the Lok Sabha elections on April 19.

Reacting after taking the oath, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha welcomed Dipak Majumdar as a member of the Legislative Assembly. The Chief Minister expressed hope that his strong and innovative thinking would help conduct the various functions of the Assembly. Deputy Speaker Ramprasad Pal, along with various cabinet members, legislators, corporators of Agartala Municipal Corporation, various levels of political personalities, and administrative officers, were present in the swearing-in ceremony.
