STATE: Due to the impact of Cyclone Remal, the electricity service in the state has been greatly disrupted on Monday. Despite the Cyclone the power workers, contractors, and engineers continued to try to restore the power system of the state under wartime conditions.
According to preliminary estimates, the electricity department has suffered a loss of around Rs 2 crore 50 lakh. Power Minister Ratanlal Nath informed in a press conference at the secretariat press conference hall on Tuesday.
Ratan Lal Nath said that according to preliminary information, 686 electric poles were broken in the entire state, including Agartala, 234 km of power lines were torn and 82 transformers were damaged due to the impact of Cyclone Remal.
In a press conference, the power minister said that the state’s electricity service will be normalized soon.
To do this, 3-4 teams have been formed in each sub-division. With electricians in each team. The contractor organization has 4-5 members. They continue to work in wartime conditions. As a result, the work of electrification in the Agartala division is 80 percent complete today and in good condition
