Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Monday met Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia in New Delhi.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister informed the Union Minister about all the proposals for the development of the state’s Aviation sector, which are awaiting the final approval of the Central Government. Chief Minister requested speedy approval of all these project proposals in the interest of the people of the State.
Chief Minister Saha also raised the issue of declaring Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport as an International Airport and the commencement of night flights from MBB airport.
Notably, Chief Minister also requested the construction of a green field airport at Hirachhara in Kailashahar and the resumption of cargo services in the state. He also demanded the introduction of direct flights from Agartala to Mumbai and Agartala to Hyderabad.
Moreover, he also requested the approval of the Union Ministry for the commissioning of Kailashahar airport and the construction of heliports at 6 proposed locations in the state.
On the other hand, CM Saha also made a courtesy meeting with Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani in New Delhi.
