Tripura Legislative Assembly is all set to go paperless, as the process of turning the Tripura Legislative Assembly into eVidhan Sabha has commenced.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the Training program on NEVA (National eVidhan Application) for all members of the Tripura Legislative Assembly at the lobby of the Legislative Assembly.

By inaugurating the training program, Chief Minister said that this training is provided to the Cabinet members and the MLAs and is the primary step towards setting up eVidhan Sabha. As compared to other states of the country, turning the Legislative Assembly of the state into eVidhan Sabha is a significant step for the state. Once the eVidhan Sabha is made properly functional, all the works of the Legislative Assembly will become paperless, saving time and money.

Besides, it will also simplify the complex processes of the Assembly to some extent. CM said NEVA is being launched by the central government a part of Digital India.

Furthermore, CM said that the main objective of Digital India is to digitize everything. The state government has started the process of digitizing different sectors of the government. Once the NEVA application is started in the Legislative Assembly, collecting information will be much easier, and data transfers will also speed up. Also, the cost of Legislative Assembly management will decrease and be much easier. Apart from that, the voting process in Legislative Assembly will become simpler.

Hence, all the members of the Legislative Assembly will be provided training on NEVA Application till June 25, starting from Monday. Hands-on training will be provided to the MLAs on using tabs, joining eVidhan Sabha, prompting questions, the voting process, etc.
