On Friday, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha allocated portfolios to the council of Ministers.
As per the official notification issued by Chief Secretary J K Sinha, Chief Minister has kept the Home, Health & Family Welfare, PWD Department. While he also took the charge of all other departments which are not allocated to any Minister.
On the other hand, Minister Ratan Lal Nath, who was the Education and Law Minister of the previous Government, has been reshuffled and now allocated the Power, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Election portfolios.
Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, who was the Tourism Minister in the previous one, now has got the Finance portfolio along with planning and coordination and information technology.
Minister Sushanta Chowdhury will look after the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport, and Tourism.
Minister Chakma has got the Portfolios of Industries & Commerce, Jail (Home), and Welfare of OBCs.
Newly added Minister Tinku Roy gets the responsibilities of Youth Affairs & Sports, Social Welfare & Social Education, and Labour Department. At the same, Minister Bikash Debbarma gets the Tribal Welfare portfolio along with Handloom, Handicrafts & Sericulture, and Statistics.
Another newly inducted Minister Sudhanshu Das was given the responsibilities of the Welfare of Scheduled Castes, Animal Resource Development, and Fisheries Departments.
Lastly, the lone IPFT MLA cum Minister Sukla Charan Noatia has allocated with the Cooperation, Tribal Welfare (TRP & PGT), and Welfare of Minorities Departments.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister and his team were sworn in on March 8 in the presence of the Prime Minister, Home Minister, and BJP President, and the first Cabinet meeting took place on Thursday.
