Keeping up with the progress in science and civilization, a technology-based education system is starting in the state. These technology-based smart classrooms will help us become smarter. More students will be encouraged to come to school to obtain learning through smart classrooms, enunciated Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha after virtually inaugurating smart classrooms in 752 schools in the state under Samagra Shiksha at Umakanta Academy on Friday.

The Chief Minister also unveiled the cover of the Nipun Tripura handbook and inaugurated a real-time monitoring dashboard, Vidyadarpan, in Vidyajyoti schools in the program.

Chief Minister said the central government had granted permission to start smart classrooms in 812 schools in the state in the academic year 2021-22 and 2022-23. Smart classrooms have commenced today in 752 schools. Among these schools, 744 schools are Secondary and Higher Secondary schools, and 8 of them are primary schools. 2 lakh 50 thousand rupees has been spent in preparing each smart classroom.

These smart classrooms will consist of different modern machines, including laptops, through which teachers will provide modern learning to the students.

Addressing the program, CM also said the priority sectors of the state government are education, health, and agriculture. The government aims to provide education to the students of the state, maintaining the quality of it. Hence, the government is giving importance to the improvement of the education infrastructure of the state.

CM claims that in the past, students would look for higher education elsewhere. Education infrastructure has been set up in the state so that the students of the state may obtain higher education in Tripura itself.

Various government and private educational institutions, including General Degree Colleges, University, Law colleges, National Forensic College, Medical College, and Dental College, have been set up in the state. The initiative would be taken up to set up an education hub in the state in the future based on these, CM stated.
