STATE : A virtual meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha was held at the Secretariat on Wednesday evening to review the preparations for the upcoming Rath Yatra in the state. In the meeting, Chief Secretary JK Sinha, Director General of State Police Amitabh Ranjan, and Chief Minister’s Secretary Dr. PK Chakraborty were present. District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police of all the districts of Tripura were present in this meeting through video conference.
The chief minister said in the meeting that the Rath Yatra festival is one of the traditional religious festivals of the state. The festival carries the traditional harmony tradition of our state. Many visitors gather on the occasion of this festival.
Therefore, everyone should pay special attention to ensure the festival is completed properly. All possible measures should be taken to avoid any untoward incident. The chief minister stressed the organizers of the Rath Yatra follow all government policy guidelines regarding the height of the top of the Rath and the making of the Rath.
He said it is necessary to follow the guidelines for the course of the chariot. The government should keep all arrangements, including ambulance, paramedical, volunteer, and fire fighting. It is necessary to maintain regular coordination with the power department as per the movement of the chariot.
The Rath Yatra organizers have to ensure that the Rath Yatra starts at the scheduled time of the day and reaches the destination before evening. The chief minister advised keeping an eye on the rivers in Kailashar while starting the Rath Yatra. Everyone has to take a responsible role to make the festival a success.
