STATE : Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha has expressed deep concern over the girl students falling ill due to food poisoning at the Agartala Bodhjung Girls School Hostel. After learning about the incident, the Chief Minister rushed to the GB Hospital and inquired about the physical condition and treatment of the sick students. The chief minister directed the officials of the concerned department to give a full report of the incident.

In this incident, the Janjati Kalyan Department has ordered the removal of the warden and caretaker of the hostel. It was alleged that the hostel did not follow the necessary hygiene rules and that food was not provided to the hostel residents as per the prescribed food menu approved by the Department of Public Welfare.

The department has issued a show cause notice to the voluntary organization responsible for running the hostel. Moreover, based on the full report, strict action will be taken by the state administration.
