STATE : The environment in the state is conducive to industrial development. Tripura is now a significant destination for investors. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said this while inaugurating the two-day Tripura Rubber Conclave-2024 at a private hotel in Agartala on September 23.

In this conclave, industrialists who have achieved success based on rubber also shared their experiences. On the occasion, the Chief Minister unveiled a booklet titled Transforming Tripura: The Land of Opportunities (Transforming Tripura: The Land of Opportunities). A documentary on the development of the rubber industry in Tripura was screened on the occasion.

In the conclave, the Chief Minister said that Tripura is second in the country in rubber production. 9 percent of India’s rubber production is produced in Tripura. The quality of the state’s rubber is world-renowned. Not only rubber but Tripura state also has ample natural resources. Based on this, there are opportunities to build many industries. On the occasion, the Chief Minister also announced that the second rubber park will be set up in Shantirbazar after Bodhjungnagar.

He said, currently, high-quality furniture is also being made from rubber wood. Which the people of the state are using. Besides, exports are also being made to foreign markets. The department is taking various initiatives to attract investors in service sectors like rubber, bamboo, food processing, etc, CM said.
