STATE : The state’s clubs are organizing various philanthropic programs, significantly enhancing their responsibility towards society. This increased engagement has bolstered local people’s confidence in the clubs. Notably, women are actively participating in many club activities, contributing to a beautiful and peaceful community environment that should be preserved for the future.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha made these remarks during the inauguration of the Sharad Samman 2024 program on Saturday evening at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan. The event, organized by the Department of Information and Culture, recognized 47 clubs and puja committees from the state for their excellence in the Mayer Gaman and Sharad Utsav celebrations this year.
During his speech, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha emphasized that by honoring these clubs for their well-organized and visually appealing events, it will inspire other clubs and puja organizers in the future. He noted the healthy competition currently taking place among various clubs within the state. Many clubs are engaging in community initiatives, including blood donation drives, clothing donations, and cleanliness campaigns.
The Chief Minister also addressed the troubling situation of minority attacks in Bangladesh, stating that such incidents are unacceptable. He reminded the audience of the sacrifices made by army soldiers during Bangladesh’s independence and highlighted the significant contributions of the common people of Tripura, which must not be forgotten. He urged everyone to stand against attacks on minorities.
The director of the Information and Culture Department announced that 15 clubs from West Tripura district and 28 clubs from seven other districts will be awarded for their excellence in various fields during the Sharadotsav. Out of the 46 clubs that participated in Mayer Gaman, four clubs will be recognized for their outstanding presentations, with two clubs achieving joint second place.
