Doctors are associated with the best profession in society. They have an important responsibility in protecting the health of everyone in society. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said this while inaugurating the scientific session of the 53rd All Tripura Medical Conference organized by the Indian Medical Association at IMA house on Saturday. He also said, like doctor is a profession, it is also a welfare duty. So the interest of this profession is to be able to treat every citizen of society with an equal perspective.

The Chief Minister said that many times it is seen that doctors or medical workers are affected in various ways. In that case, people who come to take advantage of health services need to remember that doctors and health workers are members of our society. Doctors are true friends of society. So everyone should have trust and tolerance towards doctors and health workers. The Chief Minister also said that the present government is sincere in the welfare of doctors.

This government revised the Tripura Health Service Rules in 2022. According to these rules, medical officers are divided into specialist cadre and general duty medical officer cadre. The number of seats for medical students in Tripura has increased. Also, the current government is working rapidly to improve the health system in the state. Super Specialty OPDs have been introduced, CM stated.

Chief Minister further said the state’s health system is improving in all areas of medical services, from cardio to neuro. Trauma centers have been set up at three locations in the state. Primary Health Centers are being upgraded to Wellness Centres. The only government dental college in the state has already been set up. The state has commissioned the largest oxygen plant in the North Eastern region.

The Chief Minister said that efforts are in the process to make the overall medical system of the state modern and mass-oriented. The present government has launched a campaign so that the people of the remote areas of the state can avail the better medical services of the state. The Chief Minister said that the doctors in the state are achieving great success in the medical field.
