STATE : A review meeting was held recently at the secretariat to beautify both sides of the road from Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport-Agartala City. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha presided over the meeting. In the review meeting, the Chief Minister suggested giving priority to the traditional mixed culture of the state in this beautification project of the city.
The Chief Minister stressed making this work more interesting by involving local artists and also directed the project implementing authorities to ensure that there is no compromise in the quality of beautification work. In addition, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of street lights on the Airport-Agartala road.
It was informed in the meeting that an attractive foot-over bridge would be constructed at Radha Nagar Motor Stand in Agartala. This foot-over bridge will be constructed to avoid congestion and facilitate pedestrians. This spectacular foot-over bridge will have a total of 4 escalators on both sides. Rs 5 crore 60 lakh will be spent on the construction of this foot-over bridge provided by the Urban Infrastructure Development Fund.
In the meeting, the Commissioner of Agartala Municipal Corporation and the CEO of the Smart City project Shailesh Yadav presented an outline of the proposed beautification project through a pictorial report. In this project, various areas on both sides of the road from Bir Bikram Airport to Agartala will be landscaped.
AMC Commissioner said in the meeting that the beautification project includes the planting of different species of flower trees, construction of the new wall in place of the old wall, and display of cultural diversity of all ethnic groups including people of Tripura on the wall, construction of Unakoti, replica of Chabimura construction of the small park, construction of steel sculptures and statues. , construction of sidewalks, installation of modern attractive hoardings, colour zebra crossing, planting of large trees, etc.
However, CEO Shailesh Yadav also expressed hope in the meeting that this beautification work will be completed within the next 5-6 months.
