STATE: Tripura Film and Television Institute is a proud institution of the state. No one imagined that such an institution would be established in the state. With the sincere efforts of the state government and the cooperation of the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, such institutions have been made possible in the state. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said this while addressing the chief guest at the certificate distribution ceremony among the students after various courses of Tripura Film and Television Institute (TFTI) for the academic year 2023-24 at Nazrul Kalakshetra on Tuesday. It is to be noted that 53 students trained in the three courses of Screen Acting, Script Writing and Digital Editing of TFTI were given certificates at the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that there is no dearth of talent in the state of mixed culture of castes and castes. Trainees from Tripura Film and Television Institute will also take forward the art, culture and tradition of the state. The Chief Minister thanked the faculty from Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute for the work they are doing to bring out the latent talent among the children of the state. The Chief Minister said that currently, 7 short courses are running in Tripura Film and Television Institute. We hope to introduce diploma or degree courses here, along with long-term courses in the near future. In a word, efforts will be made to develop this institute into a full-fledged one. The state government bears 90 percent of the fees for various courses in this institute which is a good thing for the students.

Secretary of the Department of Information and Culture P K Chakraborty said that Tripura Film and Television Institute started its journey on November 28, 2022. Presently, 7 short-term courses are running here under the supervision of the Kolkata-based Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute. The courses are Screen Acting, Film Appreciation, Production Management, News Anchoring and Reporting, Script Writing, Digital Editing and Sound Recording. Also, these two courses, Digital Cinematography and Film Direction, will be introduced here soon. Information and Culture Department Secretary Chakraborty also said that the government has planned to improve this institute with the cooperation of Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute. A consultant will be appointed to this institute soon. Space has also been identified for this film institute.
