In a significant stride towards advancing India’s capabilities in High Performance Computing (HPC) and related fields, the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) have entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA). This collaborative effort aims to establish a robust ecosystem for human resource development in areas critical to the nation’s technological advancement.
The MoA, signed with mutual enthusiasm and foresight, outlines key objectives to enhance expertise in HPC, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Data Science among students, educators, and professionals. These domains are pivotal in driving innovation across various sectors, including healthcare, finance, weather forecasting, and national security.
The MoA also emphasizes the importance of fostering research and innovation in HPC and allied areas. C-DAC will support institutions in setting up advanced computing laboratories and provide access to state-of-the-art computing infrastructure. This infrastructure is crucial for conducting cutting-edge research projects that address real-world challenges and opportunities.
Recognizing the evolving needs of industry, the partnership will facilitate collaborations between academia and industry leaders. This collaboration will create avenues for internships, industrial training, and guest lectures by industry experts. Such interactions not only provide practical exposure but also enhance students’ employability in the competitive job market
By nurturing talent in HPC and related fields, the initiative aligns with India’s aspirations to become a global technology leader. It supports initiatives such as Make in India and Digital India by equipping the workforce with advanced skills necessary for driving innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic growth.
