Almost all parties in Tripura announced their candidates for the upcoming Assembly Election. On Saturday, both Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress Party announced their lists of candidates for the forthcoming Assembly Election.
 
In a press conference, the BJP revealed its initial list of 48 candidates for the 60 seats. Some new faces will also be seen contesting for BJP tickets. However, the names of 12 candidates will be revealed shortly. 
 
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha will contest as per his earlier constituency i.e., from 8-Town Bordowali Constituency, Union MoS Pratima Bhoumik will contest from Dhanpur Constituency, BJP State President Rajib Bhattacharjee will contest from Banamalipur. Whereas CPIM MLA Mabaswar Ali, who joined BJP on Friday, will contest from Kailashahar. Notably, BJP is yet to release the candidate name on the 6-Agartala constituency.
 
Meanwhile, Tripura Congress also announced their list of 17 candidates, as they are sharing partner with CPIM this Poll. Heavyweight Candidate Sudip Roy Barman will contest from 6-Agartala Constituency. From Town Bordowali, Ashish Saha will face Dr. Manik Saha. 
 
Tripura Assembly Election on 60 seats is scheduled on February 16 next. The last date for Nominations submission is on January 30, and the poll will be counted on March 2.
