STATE : Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha mentioned this while inaugurating the newly constructed Agartala Dasmighat and other related infrastructure under modern management in the Howrah River Front Development Project.

Chief Minister said the Howrah River flows through the heart of Agartala city and is a significant source of drinking water for most parts of the city. The government is working on various plans for the development and renovation of the Howrah River, including flood prevention, prevention of river bank erosion, and strengthening of the Howrah River embankment. Additionally, the project includes the construction of a Situnala treatment plant to de-pollute the water of the Howrah River, a road for pedestrians, a non-motorized cycle track, a footbridge over the river, and provision of vegetable and flower cultivation through organic farming on the banks of the river to create a livelihood for the people of the river area.

Dashmighat of Howrah River will also be developed as an aesthetic tourist spot. The beautification efforts in Agartala aim to create an attractive and comfortable environment for citizens and visitors, with modern amenities and arrangements at Dashamighat, including paved ghats, lighting, and evening aarti, the Chief Minister mentioned.

Mayor AMC and MLA Dipak Majumdar urged the local people and the government to work together for the maintenance of Dashamighat, the attractive center of Agartala city.
