TAWANG – Nestled in the majestic Himalayas, Tawang is gearing up to host the Tawang International Marathon 2025 on October 24, promising a spectacular convergence of athletic excellence and cultural vibrancy. In preparation, a joint coordination meeting was held today at the Conference Hall of the Tawang Brigade to align efforts among key stakeholders.

The meeting was co-chaired by Deputy Commissioner Namgyal Angmo and Brigadier Bhupal Singh, SM, of the Indian Army’s Tawang Brigade. Senior district officials and event partners, including representatives from the organizing agency Cyruns (who joined virtually), participated in the strategic planning session.

Brigade officers presented a comprehensive PowerPoint briefing that reviewed the logistical framework, accomplishments, and challenges from the previous edition of the marathon. Cyruns shared updates on ongoing promotional runs being held across major cities in India to generate enthusiasm ahead of the event.

Key Outcomes of the Coordination Meeting:

Elimination of single-use plastics: PET water bottles will be completely avoided

Adoption of eco-conscious practices: Use of sustainable publicity materials and event infrastructure

Boosted promotional strategy: Emphasis on digital outreach alongside traditional media

Strengthened civil-military collaboration: Unified commitment for a secure and seamless marathon experience

Deputy Commissioner Namgyal Angmo highlighted the marathon as a unique opportunity to project Tawang’s scenic beauty, cultural richness, and warm hospitality, stating, “This event is not just a run; it’s an expression of who we are. We aim to make it impactful, inclusive, and environmentally responsible.”

Brigadier Bhupal Singh reaffirmed the Indian Army’s strong support, adding, “We are fully committed to ensuring the marathon is executed with precision and safety, in the true spirit of Arunachal Pradesh.”

With coordination now in full swing, stakeholders agreed to reconvene in the coming weeks to track progress and finalize logistical arrangements. The Tawang International Marathon 2025 is poised to be not just a sporting event but a celebration of community, nature, and unity.
