After Subhanshu, Now Janhvi – Another Indian Set to Reach for the Stars on a US Space Mission

While India celebrated Subhanshu Shukla’s journey into space aboard SpaceX’s ‘Dragon’ spacecraft, another Indian quietly joined the ranks of space explorers. Meet Janhvi Dangeti, a 23-year-old from West Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh, who is set to become part of the ‘Titan Space Mission’ by the American space research company Titan Space Industries (TSI). Scheduled for 2029, this mission marks yet another proud moment for India on the global space stage.

The Titan Space Mission is designed to be a five-hour journey, during which the astronauts will complete two orbits around the Earth, witnessing two sunrises and two sunsets. The mission’s focus is on conducting scientific experiments in microgravity, with astronauts spending about three hours outside the pull of Earth’s gravity. The mission will be led by veteran NASA astronaut and retired US Army Colonel William MacArthur.

Janhvi’s role will be crucial in collecting and analyzing scientific data while in Earth’s orbit. She expressed her excitement on social media, stating that witnessing the sunrise and sunset twice in one mission would be a surreal experience. The expedition aims to advance research into human spaceflight and enhance its capabilities for future missions.

Janhvi’s journey to space is rooted in a strong academic foundation. After completing her schooling in West Godavari, she earned a degree in electronics and communication engineering from Lovely Professional University (LPU) in Punjab. She then pursued space-related programs abroad, participating in several international initiatives. Notably, she has trained in the Analog Mission and was part of NASA’s International Air and Space Program.

With her achievements, Janhvi stands as an inspiration for young Indians, especially women, dreaming of careers in space exploration. As India cheers Subhanshu Shukla, Janhvi Dangeti’s upcoming mission shines as another stellar milestone for the nation.
