STATE : Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha attended the highly anticipated ‘Mayer Gaman 2024‘ carnival held in front of Maharani Tulsibati Girls’ School. During the inauguration of the Mayer Gaman-2024 program, the chief minister mentioned the historical tradition of a well-decorated procession during the Rajanya period in front of the Maharani Tulsibati Girls’ School and highlighted the decision to continue this tradition by organizing the Mayer Gaman ceremony at the same location this year.

Various clubs from the city were invited to participate in the procession ceremony, and comprehensive arrangements were made to ensure the success of Mayer Gaman. The Chief Minister also acknowledged the modernization of Dashamighat by the Agartala Municipal Corporation, which has facilitated orderly idol worship. The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to all the workers involved in this initiative, including the Mayor of AMC.

Pradeep Kumar Chakravarty, Secretary of ICA, mentioned that the Mayer Gaman was first initiated in 2022 in the state, and this year, it was decided to organize the procession in front of Maharani Tulsibati Girls’ School. The Department of Information and Culture invited various clubs from Agartala city to participate in the event, and 45 clubs have agreed to take part. Three clubs will receive awards for excellence in various categories, with the first-place club receiving Rs 50,000, the second-place club Rs 30,000, and the third-place club Rs 20,000. Additionally, various clubs will be recognized for organizing the best puja at the district level.
