We need to keep this tradition alive. Inauguration of 9-day long cultural festival on the occasion of traditional Rath Yatra and Mela Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said this.
The opening ceremony of this 9-day long cultural festival was organized at
Muktamanch at Jagannathbari in Melaghar. On the occasion, the Chief Minister said that people of different religions gathered in the traditional Rath Yatra festival of Melaghar. Along with devotees, buyers and sellers also gather at the fair. Rural by selling in fairs There is also an opportunity for people to earn. The Chief Minister called for peaceful and smooth completion of the 9-day festival. It is to be noted that this festival has been organized under the initiative of Information and Culture Department and Melaghar Municipal Council.
In the event, the Chief Minister also said that in view of the last tragic incident at Kumarghat, earlier this year, all the District Magistrates, Superintendents of Police and The concerned have been instructed to take necessary precautions. In this regard, the Rath Yatra roadmap, the height of the chariot, the power supply system, the fire service and the health department have been asked to be especially careful. It is necessary to be aware before any incident happens. Everyone should keep an eye so that sadness does not descend in the midst of happiness.
The Chief Minister highlighted the history of Raths of Melaghar and thanked those associated with this Rath Yatra festival. He said Jagannath is the Lord of the World. Lord Jagannath descends among the devotees during the Rath Yatra festival.
On the other hand, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha also visited the under-construction temple of Jagannath at Melaghar.
