Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha took to X(Twitter) to extend his heartfelt congratulations to gymnast Dipa Karmakar for her recent triumph. In his Post, CM DR Manik Saha lauded, “Today, Gymnast DipaKarmakar visited me at my office in the Secretariat after winning the gold medal at the Asian Championship held at Tashkent, Uzbekistan. I congratulated her and conveyed my best wishes for her future endeavours. Also, I felicitated her coach Shri Bishweshwar Nandi for constantly standing by her.”
The gymnast from Tripura soared above her competition to become the first Indian to ever secure the top podium spot in the prestigious event. In the women’s vault final at Tashkent, the 30-year-old Olympian posted an average score of 13.566 to finish ahead of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s Kim Son-hyang (13.466) and Jo Kyong-byol (12.966). The historic achievement was celebrated with great enthusiasm, reflecting the significant strides made by Indian athletes on the international stage.
