The parents of a young woman who reportedly died after receiving Covishield are preparing to sue AstraZeneca, the biggest vaccine manufacturer in the world, and a major player in the British pharmaceutical industry, just days after the company revealed that its COVID vaccination may cause an uncommon blood clot adverse effect.
This development follows AstraZeneca’s admission in a UK court that rare side effects from its vaccination can result in low platelet counts and blood clots.
Interestingly, the COVID-19 vaccine was created by AstraZeneca, but the Serum Institute of India (SII) produced it in India under the brand name “Covishield.” The vaccination was given out liberally throughout the nation. However, SII is yet to respond reagrding the same.
Venugopalan Govindan, who lost his 20-year-old daughter Karunya in 2021, responded to AstraZeneca’s admission by saying it was “too late” and that “so many lives have been lost.”
He posted on X, saying, “The Serum Institute ought to have discontinued the vaccine supply after the vaccination was outlawed in 15 European countries due to blood clot deaths.” According to him, the bereaved parents are battling for justice in several courts but are not granted a hearing.
“My daughter and numerous others who have died after taking this so-called vaccine are all at fault for the death of this vaccine, as are the manufacturer Serum Institute of India, the government that promoted these vaccines across the country at great expense to the exchequer as “safe and effective” without sufficient data (and when data about the adverse events from around the world emerged, they chose not to stop the rollout or at least sensitize people and the medical fraternity about it), and the regulatory bodies that approved it and then didn’t intervene to stop it when data about the dangers,” he continued in the post on X.
